The Danish Girl

Denmark

A semi-biographical movie, based on the novel The Danish Girl by David Ebershof, follows the life of the first person to receive sex reassignment surgery. The film follows the life of Einar Wegener played by Eddie Redmayne set in the beautiful location Copenhagen in the 1920s and the difficulties experienced as a trans-gendered person.

On-set locations include the iconic Nyhavn waterfront and the stunning  Kunsthal Charlottenborg as well as locations around Copenhagen, England, Belgium and Norway. Costume dramas usually provide us with some excellent movie hiking spots with beautiful interiors and stunning exterior scenes and this film is no exception.
